A group of prints inspired by a discussion about collage with the artist Shiela Girling and her husband the sculptor Sir Anthony Caro over lunch while I was living in Nicosia.
The images are based on drawings I made in the National Museum of Cyprus in Nicosia and Girne (Kyrenia) Castle Museum. The pottery was excavated by archaeological digs on Cyprus and ranged from 200AD to 2700 BC, I was inspired by how old the pottery was and yet how functional 4000 year old pottery still is, I wanted to try to interpret it in a contemporary manner using modern methods and hopefully give it another life outside the museum.
